Scholarships

The Federation of Fly Fishers Southeastern Council offers a $1000 grant in honor of founding president of the SEC, Fred Stevenson. The Council makes this grant available to qualifying students of public colleges and universities within the geographical boundaries of our Council which includes: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana (East of the Mississippi River), Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. The Red Barrington Scholarship Program established by the Northern Kentucky Flyfishers for the purpose of furthering the education of outstanding students majoring in Environmental Science or Biological Sciences at Northern Kentucky University.  Awards are made annually to students based upon the following selection procedure.

The William H. Greaves Undergraduate Scholars Program in Science and Engineering
Greaves scholars will receive in-state tuition and a book allowance. Scholarships are renewable depending on the total number of semester hours earned and student classification, provided the scholar earns at least 24 credit hours each academic year and continues to meet the stated criteria. Greaves Undergraduate Summer Fellowships
Eligibility: Current or transfer students must:
be a major in Biology
have a cumulative GPA of 3.0
maintain a 3.0 GPA in the major
obtain a recommendation from a faculty member for the proposed research
Guidelines

CINSAM Scholarship
Undergraduate Scholars Program in Science and Mathematics. Applications are due: Use One-Step Scholarship Application described above Eligibility: First-time freshman must have an ACT score of 25 or higher; must rank in the top 25% of their graduating class; must be a Math or Science major. Continuing students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and a minimum GPA in their major of 3.0. Amount: Full in-state tuition, textbook award and housing allowance.

Biology Second Chance Scholarship
Eligibility: Must be a full-time, declared Biological Sciences major other than an entering freshman. Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Must submit an essay on a specified topic. Must have participated in community service and/or campus activities or projects. Finalists must have an participate in a personal interview. Amount: $1,000. Duration: One academic year, excluding summer sessions.Contact: Office of Student Financial Assistance

Dean's Scholarship
Application Due: Use One-Step Scholarship Application described above Eligibility: Must be a junior or senior with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 with a declared major.
Amount: In-state tuition.
Duration: One academic year, excluding summer sessions.
