Outstanding Graduate in Biology Award
(Application due: March 15, 2010)
Each year the Faculty of the Department of Biological Sciences recognizes one of our graduating seniors as The Outstanding Graduate. This award includes recognition during our Senior Awards Ceremony, placement of the recipient's name on a plaque located outside the departmental office, and a check for $100.
Eligibility for this award is, to a large extent, based on the individual's cumulative GPA. However, in making the final decision there are several other areas of consideration. These areas are as follows:
Science related activities, other than the usual course work, in which you have been involved during your university years. This may include research projects with faculty, employment activities, cooperative education experiences, etc.
Extracurricular activities in which you have been involved while at Northern. Also, leadership roles that you have held.
A breakdown of the course work completed at other universities prior to coming to Northern (if applicable).
